The World Green Infrastructure Congress will take place from 9 to 13 September 2013 in Nantes, the European green capital for this occasion, organized by ADIVET under the auspices of the World Green Infrastructure Network, with the support of Végépolys and Plante&Cité.

The schools of landscape architecture of Angers (AGROCAMPUS OUEST), Blois (ENSNP), Versailles(ENSP), Paris (ESAJ), the schools of architecture of Nantes and Versailles, schools of Bordeaux and Lille, and Plante&Cité have seized this opportunity to organize a competition of ideas for tomorrow's green housing.

The purpose of the competition is to encourage students, particularly future architects and landscape architects,to join forces and bring together their respective expertise, professional cultures and orientations, with a common objective : to imagine a green housing project for the future.

For the third year, the French VEGEPOLYS pavilion represented the French plant activities at HORTIFLOR EXPO, in China from April 17 to April 20. The 2013 edition took place in the Shanghai's 2010 Expo builiding, with an increasingly strong presence of foreign exhibitors. Three European pavilions clearly stand out as leaders : The Neetherlands, Germany and France.

After these 3 days, French exhibitors confirm their interest for the HORTIFLOR EXPO and the high quality of contacts made.

The next edition will be in Beijing from 23 to 26 april 2014.
 

Deux foreign delegation visit our cluster VEGEPOLYS on February :

- M. LEVAVASSEUR, manager of the tree nursery "PEPINIERE LEVAVASSEUR", and Mrs CAPUS, international project manager of VEGEPOLYS, received a Chinese delegation at the LEVAVASSEUR company.

- A South-African delegation discoverd :

• the cluster and especially the training aspects
• one of the members, the GEVES

Again, this year, VEGEPOLYS wa present with the horticulture sector at the French pavilion at the IPM ESSEN exhibition (Germany).

VEGEPOLYS was present at the Fruit Logistica exhibition, one of the most important event of Fruit & Vegetable sector.

For the first time, VEGEPOLYS, PEIFL (member of the PIC consortium) & SOPEXA introduced the French innovation dynaism.

New products were exhibited :

- Melkior shallots, by Fleuron d'Anjou, got a prize at the variety innovation contest, SIVAL D'OR 2012

- A wide range of culinary herbs cultivated in pots made from 100% renewable resources, by Bioplants

VEGEPOLYS is partner for the World Green Infrastructure Congress which will be on September 2013 at Nantes.

The topic of the international congress is the Greening building, the challenge of the city of tomorrow.

As every year, VEGEPOLYS  will be present at the SALON DU VEGETAL (Angers) exhibition from 19  to  21 February 2013 - stand Amphithea N°K412.

This is the French trade show for the flowers and plants industry.

Traditionally, the third week January is dedicated to the PLANTS WEEK and its specific events :

• From 14 January to 15 January the researchers’ symposium  : « Les rencontres du végétal » (The plants meeting) will take place at Agrocampus Ouest–Angers site, the superior school. In 2013 the topic will be "Living with plants : Health, leisure, landscape".

• From 15 January to 17 January the SIVAL trade fair will be organized at the exhibition center in Angers. With nearly 600 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors each year, SIVAL is the only exhibition in France to offer a complete range of equipments and services for all types of plant production : viticulture, oenology, horticulture, arboriculture, fruit and vegetables, seeds, medicinal and aromatic plants, cider, mushrooms, tobacco. The trade fair intends to propose solutions for sustainable and innovative management and new practices.

• On 15 January the VEGEPOLYS Symposium will be held, an international conference about the « Optimization of water management in plant productions »

The next Plant Intercluster Network will be organized around the TechAgriFood event in Marseilles, 6 June 2013.

VEGEPOLYS presented the cluster and the PIC network at a metacluster meeting organized by Milano Metropolis (Italian development agency) last 17 October 2012.

The aim of this meeting was to discover the function of the metaclusters in competitiveness.

It was an opportunity for Pauline Capus to meet other clusters and to discuss some European projects.

European plant breeders and seeds companies can apply to the plant variety competition, whether they are exhibitor or not. A prize for plant variety innovation will be awarded by VEGEPOLYS, the SIVAL and the French magazine Réussir F&L.

Winning the competition will offer the winner strong exposure throughout the sector. So the winning company will take advantage of the communication linked to the SIVAL and to the media involved, i.e. the French and European professional press specialized in seeds, winegrowing, medicinal plants, fruit and vegetables, ornamental horticulture, as well as agronomical research. They will be entitled to highlight their prize within their own communication. The prize will be handed over at the tradeshow and, therefore, the product will be exhibited at a dedicated venue within the SIVAL.

A Mexican delegation, specialized in biotechnologies, came to discover the French market and some European clusters.

Further to their visit in our area, VEGEPOLYS presented its activities and especially the innovation services. They visited the VEGEPOLYS INNOVATION center, the INRA centre and some members, like Nor Feed Sud.
