UC Davis, located in the heart of the "Central Valley" is well known for its professional research and training about seeds, has organized the European Plant Breeding Academy since 2010. VEGEPOLYS has been the partner for the french session.

From 05 to 10 March 2012, the students of the second session attended the French session in Angers.

This training was about selection, experimentation, resistance, environment and intellectual propety, genetics and biotechnology in seeds. It took place in Agrocampus Ouest Angers Center and ESA Group.

The EPBA members could visit some member companies.

On Sunday, the VEGEPOLYS President and some members welcame the EPBA group at the time of a cocktail.

VEGEPOLYS will exhibit on the Vitafoods fair in Switzerland. Together with Phytolia association, VEGEPOLYS will valorize its network and its members’ know-how.

VEGEPOLYS will also inform about its R&D services, as for example :

• identification of your future partners in our networks
• engineering and achievement of projects
• customized phytochemical solutions

Some VEGEPOLYS members will also be present : Nat’Inov Adatris, Anjou Plantes, Promoplantes, Veg’Extra, Noveal, Pharmanager

In collaboration with Greenport Cluster, VEGEPOLYS launches a technical mission about greenhouse innovations in the Netherlands. It’s an opportunity for the members of the PIC to visit institutes in the Westland and Ostland area like Greenport Campus, Wageningen University Research Station and Domokwerkerij Westland, an innovating center specialized in plantations for greenhouses. The delegation will also have the opportunity to visit several production sites during the 2 days. The last day offers a free visit of Floriade – the world horticulture exhibition in Venlo-.

VEGEPOLYS was one of the organizers, with the University of Angers, of this information day about  financial funds for European R&D projects.
40 members (firms, researchers,…) discovered up to date opportunities (KBBE, OSEO,…) especially regarding food, agriculture, biotechnology and environnement as well as the new program Horizon 2020.

The Plant InterCluster Network is pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of the Plant Intercluster Meeting will be held on

June, 5th and 6th in Portugal.

At the IPM trade fair, held in Essen, 24 - 27 January, 2012, VEGEPOLYS will be present along the ornamental horticulture sector (FNPHP).

At the FRUIT LOGISTICA trade fair, held in Berlin, 8 - 10 February 2012,we will be present along the fruits and vegetables sector (IDFEL)

During  these trade shows, VEGEPOLYS will emphasize the innovative character of the 2 sectors with real examples of projects.

At FRUIT LOGISTICA, VEGEPOLYS  will introduce MELKIOR, the winner of the varietal innovation contest organized by VEGEPOLYS and the French Trade fair SIVAL in January 2012. MELKIOR : The first mildew resistant shallots with an organic certification.

VEGEPOLYS will take part in the Hortiflorexpo trade fair in Beijing (China) from 11 to 14 April, 2012.

For the second time, VEGEPOLYS will be there with its members at the French Pavilion, to communicate about the attractive aspect of the French ornamental horticulture sector.
It is an opportunity, too, for the VEGEPOLYS members to discover the China's potential to implement some partnerships.

5 VEGEPOLYS members, belonging to different sectors, are working on the creation of an agency in China.

An agent will be there to survey the market and look for business prospects for these companies, especially in the Yunnan Region

Last 12 and 13 October 2011, VEGEPOLYS, the competitiveness cluster globally oriented in the plant sector, and its territorial partners welcomed to the Pays de la Loire more than 45 foreign participants for the first VEGEPOLYS International Business Event.

Coming from all over the world (On the whole 20 different nationalities) in order to establish :

• some business,
• some technological partnerships,
• even some setting-ups in our region.

They were really appealed by the potential of the territory from an economical point of view as well as from a scientific one.

At the end of October, VEGEPOLYS with Plante&Cité and Valinov will take part in the annual biocontrol Industry Meeting, ABIM, in Lucerne.
This annual meeting place is specifically adapted to the needs of the biocontrol industry.

The Symposium of horticulture 2012 (european version of the International Society for Horticultural Science - ISHS) will be in the VEGEPOLYS territory [Angers - France] in july 2012. The French institute Inra for agricultural and food reseach (INRA) and the institute for life, food and horticultural sciences and landscaping (Agrocampus Ouest) organize this colloquium which will gather 500 researchers of the horticulture.

Last July, our President went to India on a mission organized by the Région Pays de la Loire. It was an opportunity to meet the horticulture actors, to discover the Indian culture, to initiate a partnership between the two countries.

Last July, a delegation from the CES Benin came to discover VEGEPOLYS, further to the invitation of the CESER Pays de la Loire. VEGEPOLYS introduced its differents services (innovation, competitiveness, business intelligence, international department) and members (leading companies, training centers, research institutes).
